WHAT
HAPPENS BEFORE THE CHILD PROTECTION
CONFERENCE?
The Social Worker will meet
with you to explain in detail
the purpose of the Conference
and what might happen as a result
of it.
You will also receive, in most
cases, copies of the written
reports which the Social Worker
and other professionals will
write for the Conference. These
reports will summarise the information
they have about your family and
children. On occasions, the Chairperson
may agree that it is not in the
best interests of your child
to see a report - but this is
rare.
If you decide to attend, it
can be helpful if beforehand
you write down any points you
want to make so you won't forget.
